Description
A piston ring compressor is necessary for the installation of pistons into the cylinder block.
Features
The Laser 9477 has been introduced following customer requests for a larger compressor suitable for HGV and marine engines. The compressor folds around the piston, holding the rings in their grooves and allowing the piston and ring assembly to slide into the bore without damaging the piston or rings.
Specification
- Adjustable for pistons from 53mm to 175mm in diameter. 75mm tall.
- For installing piston & ring assemblies into cylinder block without breaking the rings.
- Square key allows compressor to be tightened, while the built-in ratchet maintains the pressure while the piston is slid into the cylinder bore.
- Manufactured from 65Mn steel.
- NOTE: Always cover the internal face of the compressor & cylinder with suitable engine oil to assist in fitting the piston assembly. For smaller piston sizes please refer to Laser Part Nos. 0285 & 5066. For piston ring fitting please see Part Nos. 5250 & 5251.
